Image Tools: practical guide
Choose the operation that matches the goal: resize changes pixel dimensions, crop removes a visible region, compression targets file size, and conversion changes the file format. Splitters and watermark tools alter layout or add a mark. Preview the result before downloading, especially when the original has transparency.
Worked example
A 2400 by 1600 pixel image resized to 1200 by 800 has half the width and height, but one quarter of the pixel count. Exporting to JPEG can reduce file size but does not preserve transparent pixels; PNG is often more appropriate when transparency matters.
What to check before relying on a result
Compression trades file size against image detail, and converting formats may change transparency, metadata, or color appearance. Large files use device memory and may take time on a phone. These tools process files in the browser; keep an original copy if you may need to recover the unmodified image.
