Enter the amount you want to convert, then choose the currency you're converting from and the one you're converting to. The tool fetches a live rate automatically, or you can switch to manual mode and type in your own rate if you already know it.
Formula & methodology
converted = amount × rate, where rate is the live or manually entered exchange rate from the base to the target currency.
Live rates are fetched from a keyless public exchange-rate API with an 8-second timeout, then cached in memory. A manual mode works without network access.
Worked example
- 100 USD → EUR → ≈ 92.00 EUR — Based on an approximate rate of 0.92 EUR per USD. Live rates change constantly, so the figure shown in the tool at any given moment may differ slightly.
- 50 GBP → JPY (manual rate 189.50) → 9,475.00 JPY — With manual mode, you supply the rate yourself, useful for testing a rate quoted by your bank or card provider.
Assumptions
- Rates are indicative mid-market rates, not the rate a bank, card network, or cash exchange will actually give you.
- Rates update periodically, not tick-by-tick, so the figure may lag the current market by minutes or hours.
- No fees, spreads, or markups are included in the conversion.

Are these rates tradable?
No. Displayed rates are indicative and differ from bank, card, cash, or broker rates. They are not quotes.
What happens if the API is down?
The tool shows an error and lets you switch to a manual exchange rate so it keeps working.
Why is this rate different from my bank's rate?
Banks, card networks, and cash exchanges add their own fees and spreads on top of the mid-market rate shown here, so the amount you actually receive or pay will usually be less favorable.
How often do the rates update?
Rates are refreshed periodically, typically at least once a day, rather than in real time, so treat the displayed value as a close approximation rather than a live market feed.
Can I use my own exchange rate?
Yes. Switch to manual mode and enter any rate you like, for example one quoted by your bank, to see what a conversion would look like at that rate.
Is this suitable for large transfers or trading?
No. For international transfers, trading, or any transaction involving real money, confirm the exact rate and fees with your bank, broker, or payment provider before proceeding.
